Wimbledon WCs - Men

I think Felix and Arthur were shoo-ins for the quali wildcards, especially after how they'd played recently.

I would definitely have given Anton a MD one.

Glad to see Jack PJ in the land of the living.

Stuart Parker seems suddenly very much one of the chosen few too. Obviously I'm pleased but I don't think he's a real grass courter ... (him and Wardy must be a golden ticket dubs match for whoever draws them)

Jan Choinski is AWOL

Paul Jubb must be injured, one assumes?

Very happy for Nico Mahut to have a MD one, if he's asked.

Am pleased Ali Gray has a play in the doubles too - he's always been one of our most promising players of that age (there weren't that many, to be honest) but chose to do the college route

can they upgrade? ie if Aidan or Anton say continue a great week this week, can they change to a MDWC instead? Presumably yes?

One of the MDWC will go to the Nottingham winner this week presumably - Tiafoe won last week so doesnt need one?

Paul Jubb - must be injured, otherwise makes no sense...

Personally I'm happy to see Anton and Aidan given QWCs. Given they are winning at Challenger level this week, they will have a good chance of picking up ranking points at qualies. I think that is more valuable than getting thrashed by a top seed on a show court even if that does carry more prestige. If I was going to upgrade anyone else for a MDWC it would be Ryan P. I am surprised Wardy hasn't got anything in singles given his Davies cup pedigree. This seems to be in stark contrast to the award of wild cards to our older ladies.

I can't remember a selection of WCs that so tied in with my thoughts.

Sjngles MD ones - to my mind the obvious 4 Brits.

Q WCs - the 8 Brits were in the 11 I had written down - clearly some with "?" s. As said, Paul is presumably injured and Jan too is AWOL. Bit surprised James didn't get one, possibly rather than Stuart, but as I say Stuart was in my contenders. Stuart's additional doubles WC ( with James ) is a pretty weird one though.

Great if Aidan or Anton ( more likely ) further push MD upgrade cases but they are both still a fair bit out for me as we stand.

I cant remember who with but theyve done that in the past for sure. One of the TBA is usually reserved for the challenger winners but Tiafoe won last week and hes a DA.

i would not be surprised in the slightest if they give Anton one after today myself. proven himself the last couple of months, worthy of a shot.

Why has Clarke got a WC? Should be given to one of the many non-brit youngster aged 18-20 ranked 120-200

Rhetorical question Vandy? You know how it works as opposed to what you might prefer.

To humour you anyway, the fact is that Jay is British #6 ( 3rd highest ranked Brit not requiring a MD WC ) and WR 233 plus still relatively young. And all precedent is that that was always going to suffice.

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere yet, but Nadal has withdrawn from Wimbledon and the Olympics.

Hopefully a few our wildcard players are playing on the outside courts on Day 1. As have bagged a ticket for that day. Think this will be my first live tennis since 2019 qualifying.

My friend has managed to get 2 different days, plus she had 2 lots of other tickets that she lost due to screen going blank but I'm, constantly getting a message that there is nothing available, very odd, she even managed to get a ticket at 3pm for No.1
