Osaka might like to consider whether the numerous and very lucrative brand sponsorships will be as keen if she -even for good reasons - is less visible in the media.
Failure to turn up would be a disqualification event (unless there are exceptional extenuating circumstances, like urgent hospital admission, security risk, etc)
Just like unreasonable behaviour on the court.
It's only 15 mins. It's the rule. It's there for a good reason (the authorities have decided - rightly IMO - that it makes tennis a better, more marketable sport, which benefits everyone). So respect the rule. And, if not, disqualification. Like for other rules.

Declining to be subjected to silly questions appears to be raising her profile rather than lowering it.
In terms of the qualifying, Harriet will probably be on a bit later than expected. She's 3rd on her court, and the first match (on that court) between Zvonareva and AKS is going long. Vera was 6-2 5-1 up, and looking like she was cruising, but Schmiedlova won 6 games in a row to take it into a decider. Vera now *3-2 up, but approaching 2 hrs 15 mins. It's currently on the main Eurosport 2 coverage with Simon R and Jo D commentating.
FFS. I could have sworn the commentators said Harriet was third on that court, like 100% sure, but upon checking, the women's match on her court has finished, and the first set in the men's match has ended 6-2, so could actually just be 40 mins or so until she is on.

Yes, but not necessarily in a good way.
I note that Vera Z was 6-2 5-1 up in her FQR - and is now 3-4 down in the third..... for anyone who says it's only our women who choke....

er, doesn't that make her third? i.e. the Perez-Minnen match was first, then the men's match, and then Harriet (not before 13.30, French time)
But yes, tough loss for Vera, not only 5-1 up in the second, but also 3-1 up in the third, so AKS reeled off the last 6 and 5 games respectively in sets 2 and 3. I guess there'll be a decent chance of Vera still getting in as a LL, Teichmann is surely a doubt after going over her ankle in Strasbourg yesterday, but it will be frustrating all the same for her, and even more so if she didn't sneak in the back door.
