A shame for Emilie there, but a pretty good effort, especially when you consider their respective recent form. Certainly an improvement on her last 2 events anyway.

Edit - just noticed Amanda's opponents nationality - you don't see too many Maltese players on tour.

Emilie will have to switch to plaiying W25 rather than W15 if she is to inprove her ranking .

Currently has 43 points so nearly 3 per counter.

Would have to make SF or better at 15K to improve that.

5 points for a win in R1 must be very alluring,

7 points these days Strongbow with that recent points adjustment, so one solitary R1 win (could be against a MDWC, out of their depth) is better than reaching a W15 final these days.

Interesting although Emilie, Freya and Emily still have a few 1 pointers.

But, I'd completely forgotten the new scoring system.

I missed the fact that this was Q2 rather than FQR, so another Q round to go. Potential opponents are following Amanda on to court, and it's going to be a good junior either way.

FQR:- Amanda Carreras (GBR) WR346 [2] v Oksana Selekhmeteva (RUS) WR545 (18yo - JR10)

Ouch, looks tough. But as Ace commented, the alternative was Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (AND) WR782 (15yo - JR2)

Yes, Emilie has 9 one pointers in her singles counters for starters so plenty opportunities to improve her ranking from 15Ks which really is her level just now. Although yes she could benefit from a very favourable draw in a 25K.
