Week 19 - ITF W15 - Jerusalem, Israel (hard)

She was playing a WR1229 qualifier - shouldn't have been such hard work. I'd have put Beth and Freya nearer the 700 mark at the start of the UKPro - Freya nowhere near so high by the end.

Emily and Alicia are finding the local pairing difficult to play . They were 1-4 down in the first set but have managed to claw themselves back into the match and take the first set 7-5

Emily's opponent tomorrow:

Made the final in Israel last week, and a Sharm SF earlier in the year, beating Lissey en route.

Lissey's opponent:

She actually lost to Glushko in the SF last week.

OK, I usually find the odds for the GB girls way too optimistic.

But they're predicting that Lissey will lose. It's true her opponent lost narrowly to Glushko last week (who is currently also 5-2 on Emily App).

But she's got no other real form, has played a lot of events this year and not won many matches, wasn't a junior of any note.....

I realise Lissey hasn't been on stellar form either but....

Bit of a dose of reality for Emily that. Wasn't expecting much today (win-wise), but losing like that early in W15s isn't a great sign. Some decent players in these fields, and now 4 wins (or 6/7 if you have to qualify) isn't even as many points as a solitary W25 R1 win. A long road ahead.

Lissey just dropped her first set 4-6.

Lissey was 0-4 down in the second but has started a little charge and is now 3-4

Doubles not going so well either. They won the second set tiebreak 10-8 to take it to the MTB.

Phew, at least someone's winning.
It was 10-8, and they won the last four points.
