SF:   Jack Draper WR 322 vs (WC) Dalibor Svrcina (CZE) WR 798 (CH = 796 last month)

I hope that, having toppled the N° 1 seed, Jack doesn't go & fall flat on his face against the local WC.

According to Resultina the head 2 head is 0-3 against Jack. Perhaps in juniors...

Potential banana skin then, Svrcina is clearly on the way up.

Jack having a bit of a meltdown over the last point in the TB where his ball was (almost certainly) a fraction out.

But it's not going to change anything and - overall - that wasn't really the issue in the first set.

Lost the first 7-6(5)

Jack served for the second set at 5-3.

It went back to 5-5

But, having held serve for 6-5*, he then broke the other guy and it's now one set all

Interesting watching Jack playing someone only 10 months younger and with practically an identical profile.

There's extremely little in it.....

But can't help feeling Jack's the one to favour....

Phew animated emoticon SF:   Jack Draper WR 322 defeated (WC) Dalibor Svrcina (CZE) WR 798 by 6-7(5) 7-5 6-2  smile

Diced with death a bit in that second set!

Jack got the upper hand quite early on in the third, but did really well not to lose it again in a very tight bit in the middle.

By not doing so, the youngster sort of gave up a little (mind you, he plays a very impressive game for a 2002-er).

Well done to Draper. Won the final set 6-2

good win for Jack. will feel nice to arrest their junior h2h. His serve and bh looked by far the most penetrative shots on the court in that final set

Well done Jack, out of interest would a tournie win here get him near top 300?

Final:  Jack Draper WR 322 vs Manuel Guinard (FRA) WR 306 (CH = 294 last August)

Guinard's just beaten the Taiwanese fourth seed, Tseng (WR 277), in straight sets (2 & 1).

Nice one Jack! Not bad for the first tournament in a while!

Looks like it might be a tough proposition in the final but fingers and toes crossed that he can do it.....

Shame Tseng lost - I was hoping for a repeat of the Wimbledon boys final from 3 years ago - would have been interesting

Guinard has been on a decent run in the last months or so - won the title in the 25k in Angers a couple of weeks ago.

But he's won a lot of matches in 3 sets, and has always been a bit of a journeyman really (no offence intended, just he's now 25 and has always been a 300 or so player)
