I have no idea how Harriet turned that around, 2-4 down in the last set adn then boom 4 on the bounce, immense

I only saw the last game, nice and solid. Opponent not impressed though, and walked straight off. Was there something earlier that I missed ?

QF: DART, Harriet (GBR) 150 (CH=121 2019) def GOVORTSOVA, Olga (BLR) 7 142 6-7(5) 6-3 6-4

SF: DART, Harriet (GBR) 150 (CH=121 2019) v LIU, Claire (USA) SE 172 (CH=137 2019)

It was very odd. Neither seemed able to control the ball and Harriet was finding it particularly hard, then suddenly it seemed as if she couldn't miss. I think the wind dropped towards the end so maybe that had an effect.

There was a bit of beef at one point but that was Harriet, to be honest I don't think think it was anything more than annoyance at losing, she literally had that match, Harriet lost her serve to love to go 2-4 down and really looked like she was finished, those last 4 games were purely guts and determination

Well done Harriet!!
I did see some discussion going on at some point, but I've no idea what it was about. Obviously not paying enough attention!!

Great stuff, what a fine week she is having.

Didn't manage to see any of the match, but Emmsie did mention some earlier beef between them.

The wind dropped a lot, during the match you could hear it and see the trees swaying but by the end it had clearly dropped considerably

Thanks for the answers.

Harriet must be pretty fit, that's almost 9 hours for three matches and no rest days.

I think Sam Smith mentioned once that she can just run and run. She was flaked out on the grass after the match mind.

ETA One thing is for sure, she is definitely not a bottler, she really had no right to drag herself back into the match and win it.  From 4-2 down I thought it would be over in under 5 minutes

I love Harriet's grit. She really tries to maximise everything she has in every match. Which is all you can ask for especially when a player lacks some of the natural ability of others. A brilliant result. Well done!

I'm not sure she has less ability overall than the others, she just has an absolutely dire 2nd serve. She constructs her points well and she is a fabulous athlete.  Sort the serve out and she is easily top 100

Great result and overall tournament for Harriet.

Next match pitches her against a player just 3 places below her in the current live ranking.

Harriet is 25 this July and this is the time to really push on for the top 100. I always feel the age 25-30 is the prime years for players to make the Top100 and establish themselves there. Ought to be her best years, let's hope she can make it.

Top seed Brengle through to the final, so Harriet should be on pretty soon.
