Drat. Just slipped away at the end there. Really nothing in it at all. Will hurt but not sure they could have done much more. Alla was particularly solid today.

Save three match points but just can't claw themselves back.

Yes, there were a few of those. Kalashnikova can volley, even if her serve is pretty poor.

The bad one was at 5-5* in the MTB, although I also thought she produced some very nice shots particularly round the net player down the line. Looked like it was a fun partnership, and they worked well together. I thought Em served strongly today too in very difficult windy conditions.

I guess she'll try one of the 60ks next week to end this block. It's a shame she didn't get more out of Portugal this time with the added points on offer, but at least 2019 is dropped only at 50%. Whether she will get much opportunity to play on her beloved grass though I'm not sure, expect the fields will be packed.
