Kozlova has been bumped up to the Main Draw, so Emily has a Bye. Doesn't get the 4 points for making the final qualifying round, but the additional prize money always welcome.

Just looked at the lists on tennisteen.it - you are right, Tauson and Tomova aren't on the main entry list, neither was Kozlova, but she was outside the cut-off of WR118 whilst the other two are inside.
Isn't it a pity that with so many byes in the qualies for a 125 event just across the channel none of our ladies apart from Emily tried to enter. Can't help feeling it's a missed opportunity

Yes, and Emily is no doubt there much more for doubles and just taking the singles opportunity.
Does anyone know if there were a lot of withdrawals after the entry date and originally a pretty high qualifying cut-off?

Defo. At least some of the more prominent ones you would be thinking of have been competing in the States, with another big event or two to come in quick succession, so that's not so bad, but there's a lot of players ranked between those types and EWS who you would have thought could have given it a go, even more frustrating that there were a lot of byes in quals.
I suspect had it have been hard (even though we're in RG season, so very unlikely), it may have been different. Although saying that, I was a bit disappointed we had literally no entrants in Calvi W25+H hard - that's further away geographically, but was shocked to see not one GB entrant. It was a relatively weak field as well, so a bit of an opportunity missed, especially with the extra +H points on offer, and in hindsight, the additional ITF increases.
Apparently Saint-Malo is actually pretty hard to get to generally, and not the most connected of places.
Yes, the original cut of for qualifying for about 120. Because withdrawals depended a lot on how players did in Madrid, there just wasn't going to be a lot of players chancing it this week, given they had to commit to an ITF if they did want to play this week well over a week or so ago.
Obviously with hindsight we see spaces in both qualifying and doubles, but with money, quarantining, travel restrictions and so on to get round, I'm not surprised there weren't a bunch of alternates in the 200-350 mark on site.
