Well done Harriet, nice to see her winning again and on paper an easier 2nd round draw.

Harriet currently 6-3 1-0* in her L16 match. Neither are on streamed courts today.

3-4* now in the second set. The match before Katie's has finished on Court 2, so she should be on in a bit.

Wow, those last 3 games went pretty quick. I was kind of half expecting to check back to see them into a decider, given the opponent was a break up and 2 games away (even if that's not uncommon for Harriet), but Harriet won the last 3 to win the match 6-3 6-4. Good stuff.

Edit - games won to 30, love, and 30.

And the second 6-0.

They both play Americans tomorrow, Harriet has Claire Liu, and Katie has WC Alycia Parks, so there's a decent chance both will be streamed, that's if they are jot all streamed anyway from this point.

Although saying that, a good chance all 4 matches will involve a local player, and there could be an all US match, so we'll just have to see how the courts are allocated, but it would be good if they were available to watch, especially coming towards the business end.

Katie's been liking second sets recently.

Her last 6 matches from the BJK Cup and here, including the 7-6 2-0 ret win vs Paquet have had total games for-against :

Set 1 : 39-26
Set 2 : 32-5

Katie always seems to improve 2nd set but it's nice to see her getting into the match a lot earlier. Pre injury she had a habit of giving her opponent a big head start.

Just 2 seeds left.

(7) Harriet in the top half and (6) Wang Xinyu in ( Katie's ) bottom half.

We know what we really want here but one game at a time ...
