I think this is week 16, although the thread is week 26. Not sure if this is the place but still... heres the draws for this weeks youth National series 18u at Notts & Aldershot. Despite some hopes they would be stronger draws, unfortunately not. In fact with the absence of the Stirling Academy competing at Notts I would say the draw is considerably weaker with very few of the top national players in either event. Combining the two may have been better as theres half a decent draw in each. The events, unlike the younger age groups, are not random and are to provide competitive matches so yoi should see the stronger players facing one another.
At notts a potential match up of Phoenix and luca could be interesting and potentially Ranah vs Mimi - but considering they train together its a shame theres not a wider competitive base there. At Aldershot Louis bowden vs Fabio should be a good match too.
a shame not more of the stronger and well known players so fingers crossed many enter the Cat 5 ITF closed in Stirling starting May 17th for qualies.
But as Jon says, Given and Kristina won, in a MTB, so well done, girls!!!
NB Not a fan of the name myself - the baby is given to whom? or given to the parents from whom? Or just a given?
However, that's not a criticism ! It's good we all have different ideas otherwise all our kids would be named the same......
Indeed - our daughter is named Hope so I guess I quite like names which are just slightly outside the norm but still reasonably safe. I draw the line at Chardonnay and names based on the place of conception!
It's one of the Virtue names, like Faith, Grace, Charity etc.
(Funny how Faith, Grace and Hope are still reasonably common but Charity has died a death........might say a lot about our individual versus collective spirit)
Not sure Given counts as a virtue or reasonably safe....but yes, there are far worse !
