Like last week's W60 it is a 48 player main draw with 16 seeds who all have byes to R2. So Fran will again start at the L32 stage.

Emily won 6-2 6-0. A very one sided set of results. If we think we have problems in domestic 25ks, the 13 Portuguese players only picked up 23 games between them.

Under the new points system it is 2 points for qualifying and 3 points for R32. Fran has a couple of 5 point counters, so needs to win just one match to improve (7 points nett 2). Emily has some one pointers.

 I see Navarro has been promoted to 17th seed. And also there are a couple of Portuguese in the main draw - as wild cards.

Em gets back to back wins on the red stuff, winning 6-3 6-1

 

For reasons I can't quite work out, in some situations you now get 2 points for qualifying for a 25k, and this is one of them.

Here you go PaulM, this is the updated points schedule - most of the ITF25k options lead to 2 points for qualifying now, this was released a week or two back, so very recent

Steven reminds us on Twitter that this is the first time Emily has won back to back matches on clay since qualifying for Edinburgh in 2003. A feat I was actually present for!
