 Thanks, I did wonder if I'd mis-seen.....

Anyway, nice that Fran will be on our 'Friday Feeling' list smile

Good stuff.

Her potential L16 opponents are currently a fair way through their match. 4th seed Bucsa must have withdrew early on as it's a Spanish LL, Bassols Ribera, against qualifier Volynets (whose surname is often referenced on here), and the LL is currently a set and *4-2 up.

I was just going to post something similar, having looked at the draw on the ITF site, and seeing that wrongly shows Fran as losing overnight !
Score is now 5-5 , so could be going three. There is such a backlog of matches that they won't be playing another round today anyway.

The ITF site has Fran with 3 breaks to 1 in the final set.

Serving second, breaking for *3-2, broken back for 3-3*, and then breaking twice more for 6-3

Thanks, Indy - ITF might have been wrong, but I didn't think I was going mad (although you never know......)

Looks like sofascore had it wrong - I did double check before posting, and the match has gone off the list now.
So it's the lucky loser Ribera in the next round

R2: JONES, Francesca (GBR) 13 200 = CH def GRAMMATIKOPOULOU, Valentini (GRE) 278 (CH=158 2018) 6-3 4-6 6-3

R3: JONES, Francesca (GBR) 13 200 = CH v BASSOLS RIBERA, Marina (ESP) LL 338 =CH

They met in Porto last Sept with Marina winning 6-4 6-2

Not sure sofascore had it Grammatically correct?

Well they finally got to play. A little rusty, especially Sofia (rain delays ?) but far too good for the young wildcards, who looked as if they should be playing W15's not W60's

L16:- Sofia Shapatava (GEO) / Emily Webley-Smith (GBR) CR330 (163+167) [4] def Matilde Jorge (POR) / Maria Santos (POR) UNR (1052-JR152/UNR-JR701) [WC] (both 17 yo) 6-2 6-2

Pretty clean performance I thought. Were never really threatened. Hopefully they can pick up some more points this week as their phenomenal run in Portugal in 2019 starts to drop off.

Noo, they weren't threatened, but there were a few bad misses, and they'll need to play better in the next round(s)

That was the only doubles match completed today - and only one other actually started
