Sonay vs Freya the definite pick there for me, and Sonay is actually the narrow 4/6 or 1.67 favourite to win - the 2-0 H2H from last year probably important in setting that price. The winner of that should really have a foot in the semi final, and the loser to then be in a battle with Alice for 2nd.
Quite interested to see how Emily bounces back from her disappointment today, and to see how Millie matches up to her, but again, the bookies have got this one very wide. Emily is 1/20, Millie 15/2 or 8.5 - I wonder if CD will have the 10p's on the go again there?
Fairly slim pickings after that for me, but Kimberly is 'only' 11/4 or 3.75 to beat Nadia. That won't happen too often, but Nadia's aforementioned shocking start to the campaign probably influencing that.

Excellent display from Sonay, looking strong and fit, with her trademark easy acceleration of the ball, defeating Freya 6-1 6-3.
(PS Just for Ace - only went for Kim today, on the basis that Nadia 'should' win but, honestly, Kim at 7 seemed reasonable value. And also Dani: I like Alice and picked her out from the Frankie Wilkes, Sarah Wray etc group a couple of year ago as having distinctly more potential, but let's not exaggerate, she's a bit up and down and - again - I thought the odds were too generous for Dani who's put in some decent performances. If both 10ps go down the toilet, it won't be a tragedy )

I was kind of half watching Emily vs Millie earlier, in the background of a (non video) Teams call, and Emily won fairly comfortably 6-2 6-2, so those 1/20 pre match odds were justified in that occasion.
Edit - had Sonay's score the wrong way round, as CD's post correctly had, but yeah, a very good performance from her, and getting better as the week goes on. With 3 wins from 3, straights sets vs her biggest threat, and Kimberly to come, she should really be in the semi final now, injuries permitting. It would require some exact type scenarios in the remaining Freya-Alice, Alice-Sonay matches to occur to deny her.

Whatever the odds, I saw that Nadia beat Kim 1 and 4 last July, when Nadia's results were better, so the 6-4 set might give hope of an upset. When playing well Nadia gives very little away so still I would be very surprised if she lost.

Yes, and Kim has some real technical problems that are difficult to overcome
Still not bad. She has gone out a bit since the initial odds of 3.75 last night, and is currently 4.33 now, but even I might have been slightly tempted to back her, for the first time ever, had she have been way out at 7s . Well, maybe still not, but the temptation would have been there
Danielle did push Alice to a MTB last time out the other week, and that's always a bit of a lottery if it does go that far, so why not since she is such a big, relative, outsider.
I wonder what some of these 1-4 type better players think of these kind of matches? Would they prefer stiffer competition to learn more, would they prefer just a 4 match group stage, instead of 5 (if they can't draft in anyone better), or will they appreciate it to have a less pressured / emotional stressful match, where they can effectively just show up?

Forgive my variations on formatting - the OOP is copied off the official website, but the results are copied from sofascore as being easier to format for here.
I just had a quick look at the men's results over the past 2 days, and while Jack and Anton seem to be doing well, expectedly, the 4 matches each day not involving them look to be really close and competitive, either MTBs, or 2 very tight sets. Not quite the same here though. So many 0/1/2 beatdowns.
I'm halfway through drawing up a table of matches, sets and games won and lost. Hope to post it tomorrow, but these one-sided matches have got my figures in a muddle
