Won as many games here after 2, than she did in either set vs Min.
It's too early to get excited but 2 games is progress. I thought she'd do well to get 2 games in the entire match (and she still might only get those 2 games)

And I missed them both as I was watching the closing stages of a match in Bogota. Tuned in to that prior game, so no doubt 2-6 0-6 it is...
If she'd stolen that seat it would really have been a steal! Although she did have a point for *3-0 so she had opportunities herself. Far more impressive today than in qualies. Nice reminder of how much fun she can be to watch! Really digs in.

Harriet lost 6-7(8) 4-6 unfortunately. She did have a MTO at 3-2* in the second for some sort of elbow injury, I thought it was a weird bite or something first, but a really good effort, and while I didn't see the Min match, I can imagine it being a big improvement. It makes the tournament a lot better IMO, still an easy 13 points in the bag, so something to show for it, and now ending with an encouraging, spirited display in an unexpected bonus match, rather than ending with a seemingly routine loss. She was 2-0 up in both sets.
Hopefully BJK Cup for her next week, which we should find out tomorrow.
Well that was a pretty decent effort from Harriet. Infact I'd say it was a bit of a lost opportunity.
I thought the quality of the court surface itself was very poor for this level of competition. Quite a few poor bounces.
Putintseva was truly terrible at times and very good at others. Harriet's lack of experience on the surface exposed her at the end. Some encouraging signs though.
