Clearly for me not a Wimbly MD WC and Paul Jubb had quite a bit more to his tennis CV from ITFs and latterly challengers. But interesting thoughts re being given a chance with a doubles Q WC.

 The NAIA is another 'league ' / governing body of the US college system and Luke's school is in that and he's probably the number one ranked player , so well done him ! That's no easy feat.

I think most of us focus on the NCAA Div1-3  college and rankings. 

It just goes to show that there are various options / pathways out there in terms of college tennis.

Generally, once prospective student-athletes enroll full time at a college or university, they may not accept more prize money than expenses for each competition. ... Once PSAs accept more than $10,000 in a calendar year, they may not accept more than expenses in any subsequent event. 

Looks like Arthur will have to stay in some expensive hotels, eat lobster, steak and spend ££ on coaching to keep his expenses high  I am sure there was something posted about Paul Jubb when he was in the same situation?

There was a recent change so SAs could make money from their likeness, but were concerns  that would turn amateur college athletes into pros..

JoJo Bach (real name Jonea) was based on France, at the ITC Excellence tennis academy in Nimes in France. Played a lot of domestic French tournaments.
I don't know but I think her dad is French (he's called Francois - seems a good guess ) and the whole family were based in France.
And her father, I seem to remember, was a coach in the French system (and maybe in UK too?) In fact, I think Jojo might have even switched at one point because she came up on all the ITF sites a few years back as French, but then seemed to be GB again, so it might have been a glitch.

Not sure the all the seedings were quite right due to the pandemic and College matches not recorded by the LTA (yet - allegedly will be when the WTN is used) but nice to see so many of our college players have qualified for the main draw:

Main draw wild cards: #5 Toby Samuel (S Carolina), George Davis (William and Mary) correction not the right George Davies!!

update I got the wrong George Davies-  playing is George R Davies who is 26 and not at college (the tournament website wasnt very clear)

Not US college transfers in the usual sense, but two of our super bright ladies are transferring back to the UK.

Georgie Walker who graduated with a degree from Furman this summer will be taking a Masters in Environmental Policy at Clare College, the University of Cambridge in October 2021. Allegedly Georgie will be joined by Emily Arbuthnot who graduated with a Masters after a 5th year at Stanford and will also be studying for a Masters at Cambridge in the autumn 2021. These two will definitely add strength and depth to the Cambridge team.
