That bigger and better things line made me think of this absolute classic between Vickery and Mertens in Hobart a few years ago. I can't find a video unfortunately (there definitely used to be one on YouTube), but it was hilarious scenes:
Things definitely seem to be picking up recently on the ITF scene. Fran with 48 points minimum from her last 2 events, Jodie with her title earlier today, Katie S with her title the other month (although a shame she retired in the follow up event), and a little lower down, Matilda with her final last week. Promising signs.
18 (net 13) points last week for Fran and 18 (net 13) so far this week look like they may be enough for her to sneak into the top 200 on Monday week wifh 359 points.
But we want more
Thank you for more.
A further 12 points for reaching the final and yes that should now certainly be enough for the top 200 on Monday week. And even with I believe just a 96 Q draw for the French Open, with no points due off for her in the next few weeks, I imagine she must be into French Open qualifying if it takes place as scheduled. Is she any good on clay?

I think Clay is her preferred surface
ETA all 5 of her titles have been on clay and her win ratio is higher on clay than hard. Haddad Maia is a good test to see where she is at now.

In a normal world, yes. But let's just see what happens with pre freeze ITF points on Monday. If, as has been said, the WTA drop 50% of those points on 5th April then that will shake up the rankings quite a bit.

Clay her favourite surface? Are we sure she's really British?

I think its a stretch to claim her as British, you guys. She is most certainly Yorkshire! And proud of it!
