Week 13 - ITF (W25) Dubai, UAE Hard

Eden's match possibly slipping away. She held to love to start the decider, but has since just won 6 points in the next 4 games, and is now 1-4*

Anyone fancy a GB Vs GB R1?
think Tara and Emina will play doubles despite retiring in their q singles? Tara did seem to be retiring a lot at one point in time from singles matches.

Well I hope we do get a GB v GB tie, but it won't be first round, as they are in opposite halves of the draw !

Eden+ give Tara and Emina a walkover !!

Both Eden and Ekaterine were knocked out of the singles in the first round yesterday, both in three sets, but no retirements. Eden did lose the last 6 games though, so may be an issue there.

Disappointing just the same

Possible Ekat after a disappointing exit just wanted out. Always the risk you can end up partnering with someone who is less committed to doubles than you (although Ekat isn't a million miles away from the top 100, but she'll need bigger scores than this event could give her). But hopefully Eden didn't have a niggle and Tara is recovered from whatever put her out of singles.

The match before Jodie's has just finished, so she should be on in the next 10 mins or so. A qualifier, Shalimar Talbi #355, awaits the winner in the QF.

There doesn't seem to be any streams this week unfortunately, not even on that dubaisports TV-like channel that covered the W25 in January that Tauson won.

First Set 6-1, but there's MTO ..... don't know who

Given the scoreline, you'd hope it wasn't Jodie, but the last 2 games were won to deuce, and she had an MTO from a leading position in South Africa in her last event, so you never know.

Seeds dropping like flies in this event. Circa top 100 player Lin Zhu, in the other half to Jodie, has just lost, so just 2 to make the QF.

Hmm, didn't realise that final game of the first set went pretty long, plus the way this second set has started, makes me lean more the other way now. Crazy how in 2021, whether on live scores, or bookies sites, you can't know for certain who had a MTO.

Completely agree - with all the data and stuff that you CAN get, it seems mad not to have an asterisk against the MTO receiver. I mean, how difficult is that????
