Fran served for the first set but played a pretty scrappy game and got broken, finally

Very close.

Fran had break points to level up the second from a break down but couldn't convert. Real tussle this.

7-6(5) 4-6 *1-1

I guess it must be quite strange going from the likes of Gauff, Rogers etc. in the slams and big WTA events of Australia to a W25 in Argentina, but then her current ranking is still in the range to not look out of place of these type of events.

Still fighting and recovered from *15-40 to crucially hold. Approaching 2 and a half hours.

4 games in a row, and now serving for the match *5-3.

Well done to Fran.

Hard match. Marie was never going to be easy. Fran did well to see it through.

She was *0-40 down in that game, but game back to hold and take it 7-6(5) 4-6 6-3.

A whopping 3 hr 37 mins according to the ITF scores site.

Five wins out of five for GB ladies so far today. Just need Hev to complete the set.

Yeah, I was going to say, a bit of a stretch to include that one biggrin. I was quietly hoping the young'un would complete the comeback, but we did well to get 4 from the others, especially as some weren't the favourites. If CD had a 10p accumulator on the Brits, he'd get a decent return.

Well we were only ever going to get five wins from five matches - a win is a win after all !
