SF: (2) Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic (CRO/CRO) CR 8 (5+3) defeated (7) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 27 (14+13) by 6-3 7-6(5)
OK, they more than justiifed their seeding, but I'd kinda hoped that, as ex-Grand Slam champions, they'd do a wee bit better against the second seeds...

Agreed. The top pairs are also so close currently and Joe and Rajeev are in fact 3rd on the season, 7th seeding is misleading really . Disappointed with that one.

Dan & Neal, on the other hand, exceeded expectations by beating this year's Oz Open champions:
SF: Daniel Evans & Neal Skupski CR 169 (146+23) defeated (4) Ivan Dodig & Filip Polasek (CRO/SVK) CR 19 ( 9+10) by 7-6(4) 1-6 [10-8]
****
Final: Daniel Evans & Neal Skupski CR 169 (146+23) vs (2) Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic (CRO/CRO) CR 8 (5+3)
I thought Neal looked a bit nervous in the first half of that tie-break - and then he put in two absolutely stellar, solid first serves at the back-end, at 7-6 or whatever.
And then Dan messed up the two smashes - and then HE put in a super first serve.
Puts Neal ahead of Jamie in 19th in the rankings. Dan goes into the top 90. Dan and Neal go equal 8th in the race. If it stays this way, at season end, Neal will need to select from Ken and Dan as partner
