Yes Jon take care and enjoy a break. Top tip - log out of your account. In that way, whilst you might come on and read the odd post, it takes another step to post something and that might mean you will get less engaged with any discussions.
Shame about your trip - we are due to travel to Dubai next week and at this point we have not cancelled but who knows what will happen but you are right in that NY will be more enjoyable in the future when this wave is perhaps less severe.
But have a good Christmas and a happy new year and I am sure your appetite will be whetted to come back once the new season and in particular the Australian Open is up and running. Hopefully one of the Brits will go on a great run for us to cheer on.
Just to add to this thread - I am going to follow Bobs lead and also take a break. Ive spent too much time on here, the polls have taken over my enjoyment of tennis and I want to get that back. But I also want to spend less time here as it is distracting me. I thought of closing my profile and walking away but dont want that as I like and enjoy the board. I hope I wont be gone long and will probably linger a little today but hope to keep away by and large for a while and not doing the voting processes will help me wean myself off it a little.
Can I wish you all a happy Christmas and hope I will see you all in the new year at some point - as the French say, this is not goodbye, it is au revoir.
It is good to get away Jon and I have certainly benefited from spending more time doing other things and getting outside more.
But it is also good to 'come home' again after a break. So best wishes on your sabbatical and we all look forward to when you choose to return here.
However, after an initial 'are you OK??????', I was actually thrilled when my son tested positive 14 days before Christmas.
It meant he's now: clear; free pretty much to do what he wants; super immune; not contagious; not going to be put into self-isolation at short notice and mess up plans going forward........all good, to be honest....

Thats a positive way to look at it! We shall take that view - I think it was just on the back of everything else over Xmas period, its not been the most positive of ones weve had ! Ha
Noticed that Stircrazy, one of the boards most prevalent members, hasnt been around in 3 weeks - hope she is ok.
Yes. I'd noticed the same. Thought it might just be Christmas holidays. And fingers crossed it is.
But it's been a while now....
I believe that SC (unlike some) doesn't tell people privately when she's not going to be around.
So hopefully, after the Bank holiday, she'll pop back up as normal.
But, yes, I'm slightly concerned too....
Last login was Friday December 17th, so not quite three weeks. Not a lot of ITF activity in that time, but perhaps she'll be back for next week and Bath M25. Fingers crossed that all is well.
Yes hopefully with it bring so quiet on the men's side SC just chose to take a break. Hope she's back about soon now that there is serious action again.
