Yes, 12 points doesn't look right. I'd have thought it should be 6 for this week plus 2 for last week

OER now showing live ranking of 897, but don't include today's result. The extra two points today should move her to around 865 or so.

I tried to check Matilda's points on Open Era rankings but the whole website seems to have gone into meltdown!  Can't say I'm surprised when they are trying to deal with an impossible situation just now.  Still delighted with Matilda's win.  Makes up for the disappointment of waking up to Dan's loss (well almost)

By my reckoning she has 22 points including todays result 2 x R16 1 point each 2 x QF 2 points each and 1 win 10 points = 16 + 6 so far this week. I looked at live tennis rankings earlier and 1000 was 16 points and she was ranked 1001.

Great week for Matilda. Good to see one of our own doing so well at such a young age. I believe she trains full time at the New Nadal academy. Good luck today.

Which she loses and then regains, break fest this one. Matilda up to 7 DF now, 5 in the 1st set and 2 more in this set.

Yes, not a bad effort. Interesting to compare to Lilys matches in UK since july last year. She had 3 set wins against likes of Eliz, and Emma Wilson, but also beat Emily A. in 3 sets. Sonay Kartal lost 3 and 4 to her, Grace Piper was 5-4 down when Grace retired and in July Alicia Dudeney beat Lily in one of the first Brit Tour return to Elite competitions.
I know a lot can change since last summer / autumn...Lily seems to be doing a run of tournaments and probably getting match sharpness. She seems a good measure of where Matilda needs to get to next, from around 800 or so upto the 300 or 400 level.

Not sure how many points would be required to make that shift. I'd say let's see if she can get top 600 first and then top 500. Also will her age preclude her from playing enough tournaments to gain the points required? Does the age thing work the same at ITF as it does for WTA?

Depsite the final loss she can take a lot of positives away from this tournament. Great effort. One of the few British women I would consider giving a Wimbledon qualifying wild card to.

To answer your questions.

Points - these are the current points according to OER

WR 400 = 123 points
WR 500 = 88 points
WR 600 = 62 points
WR 700 = 43 points
WR 800 = 30 points

So WR 600 looks a good target for now.

Age restrictions - It's governed by the WTA rules. Her birthday is in June. She's allowed 12 tournaments at 16 years old and 16 at 17 years old. She's played 8 so far.
