Week 12 - ITF (W15) Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Set all and although it's only Sharm, where players have traditionally had false rankings, she has consistently beaten top 500 players, so huge potential to climb the rankings quickly.

12 breaks already, 6 each, including one for matilda at start of third set.

Make that 13 breaks, 1-1 in third.

Matilda with another break there, but halfway to be broken back again.

Lily awaits in the final as she beat that aforementioned (a fair few pages back) Gadecki in the other SF.

It's *3-2 and now deuce. Fingers crossed.

From 3-2 to 4-4, but Matilda gets the crucial break and is serving at *5-4

Looked at the activity yesterday and the No.1 seed seems to only play in the Far East and occasionally Australia.

Well Matilda has eaten her weetabix this week biggrin

Brilliant fight back and determination to win 2-6 6-3 6-4 smile and she's into the final.

I think that win will put her somewhere in the high 800s another win and the low 800s.

Yes, a good win, all about winning the last point, as ever! Eight breaks each and total points 79 to 78 in Matildas favour. Final will be interesting against Lily who has played a lot of British players over here in British Tours, especially last year.

https://live-tennis.eu/en/wta-live-ranking suggests that she could be as high as 819 when all the points (so far) go on. Other ranking sites vary somewhat though, as I suspect they are busy rewriting their algorithms.

Not sure where the 12 points added comes from, its' 6 for making the final 10 for winning it.
