Quite looking forward to this. A pretty rare all GB WTA match, certainly outside of GB events anyway where there will be a few WCs to boost the chances. Harriet probably needs the win more, but I'm hoping for Heather as there should be more chance of extended GB interest if she prevails.
Harriet looks to be benefitting from having a couple of matches. As much as I'd like her to get the points to move her ranking up I do hope Hev comes back. Pretty enjoyable set.
Disappointed with that result. It doesnt mean Harriet is suddenly great, more like she was no better than recently - which in turn says very little good about heather.
One or two players apart, British womens game is in a pretty poor place right now.
Yeah, poor performance from Heather. I was hoping she'd win as she'd have likely been the favourite to beat Kuzmova and go a bit further, whereas while certainly not beyond Harriet, given Kuzmova has just ended a literal 18 set losing streak as mentioned previously, she's probably less likely to make the QF. That said, as a pure GB tennis fan, putting any personal preferences aside, given she is 29 in a couple of months, staying circa 60, going on the odd WTA run, entering all the slams directly, and winning the odd slam match, is probably what we can expect from Heather, and she'll get a lot more upcoming WTA events to compete in, whereas at circa 150, about to enter her prime years, and a fair bit off where she has been previously, it was a more important match for Harriet IMO, just hope she can go a little further, and really take advantage of her reprieve.
