Other events, 2021 - week 9

This might be a very short thread.....

In Tallinn, J5, Vlada Kozak lost in three sets in R1.

And is not in the doubles.

Nothing else going on, as far as I can see....

(David will do a Banana Bowl JA event thread, I'm sure)

Yes it seems the travel restrictions are finally being heeded.

2021 will be a tough year for GB players as we are one of the very few countries not training or competing. Lets hope the vaccination process is a success and play can resume later in the year.

 I don't think it's people heeding the restrictions (advice/guidelines).

It's just that this week there weren't many events  - true, some have been cancelled but that's the same each week - but for some reason there was always only ever 8 events this week, of which three are cancelled. Last week, there were 12 events (four cancelled).

Next week, it's about the same and then more events. And a very mixed nationality acceptance list, although not that many from the UK, probably because most of those travelling have had a stint now and might be going back to school. But in general they look as mixed as before.

Yes you could well be right. I do think the national  academies are not willing to travel now.
