Week 9 - UKPro League - Event 1, Loughborough (Indoor Hard)

Kylie's taken a MTO (for hip flexor problem?)

It seems to strange to me that a girl who is 18, who's about 150 in juniors, and has some very good ball skills, has seemingly barely played an adult match of any description. No ITF match. Only two British TOur events that I can see. Maybe county tennis? But really ?

Kylie ought to be trying for W15's - she's as good as the other six lesser known names, and has beaten Nadia and Ella. It will be interesting to see how she fares in the playoffs.

Anyway , Beth won 3-6 6-3 10-8, and I've updated the scores on the previous page.

Just to be clear - am I right in that the Em App v Freya and Lissey v Beth are semi-final matches?

And the others are all just for places and that's all?

yes and no. the players are playing for places but that also translates into prize money and also league points. Each event in the 8 weeks translates into a points table over the 8 weeks and the top players qualify for a masters or classic week 9. And that in turn has bigger money. Top 12 in league qualify for that, although I think some of the places go to wildcards.

Tx - is there a prize money table somewhere then?

I haven't seen a prize money table for this event yet. But I did make a copy of the table from the summer event, so it should be reasonably similar.

The summer fund for the women came to £260k.
The weekly prizes were £1k appearance fee, and prizes ranging from 0 for 12th up to £5000 for the winner.
Classic week didn't pay appearance money, but the prize money ranged fromm £3k up to £20k.

I think there is more detail in last year's thread.

Madadman posted this in the thread in the general section

The 2020 event had a participation fee of $1000 then:
5000
3500
3000
2500
2000
1500
1250
1000
750
500
250
0
For each position.

The classic week was:
20000
15000
10000
7500
6500
6000
5500
5000
4500
4000
3500
3000

the total money is still £500k but split over 9 instead of 6 weeks, so maybe weekly prize money is 2/3rds of the money above!?

That looks like the figures I have on my spreadsheet. I'll try and find out the figures for this year. Incidentally, the website says the prize is in excess of £500k this year, and not dollars.

Emma got a wildcard into the classic week last year, and ran off with the 20k prize.

My error, I wrote dollars but have amended it above

Many thanks to both/all for reposting the figures.

Even at two-thirds, that's very decent money. Good! Very few will go off travellling with that on offer. And no wonder Mason jumped into his car and bombed down from Birmingham at the drop of a hat.

And I will watch the lower place matches/results with a little more interest.

Thanks again.

What i personally get vested in is the little league table that unfolds as the weeks go by. Ive always said we should link our itf futures level events with a points table of some sort linked to maybe a masters at year end and this plays to that narrative .

That's the first set Danielle has won all week, so well done to her on a close match
