Week 9 - ITF M15 - Monastir, Tunisia (hard)

QR1:  (q1) Naoki Nakagawa (JPN) WR 677 (CH = 531 in July 2017) vs Louis Allen WR 1894 (CH = 1789 last November)  bleh

Presumably, as Madadman suggested on the Week 8 thread, Stuart Parker has an SE for next week so gets a well deserved rest.

The winner of that plays a qualifier or Stuarts good friend Dougaz.

And Stuart sets up another match with Dougaz with a 6-2 6-3 win over the wildcard.

L16:  (1) Aziz Dougaz (TUN) WR 376 (CH = 356 last March) vs (SE) Stuart Parker WR 627

Stuart beat the Tunisian in the first round last week & in the quarters a month ago, not to mention at this venue last October & a couple of times in the UTR Pro Series in France last summer.  Let's hope he can maintain that sterling record.

Dougaz leads 3-1 and currently 30-15 on Stuarts serve, to Stuart, but live scores showing a medical time out. Not sure who to.

Stuart managed to hold so Dougaz leads *3-2 but another MTO.

Back underway and Stuart manages to hold.

2-3*

A break down in the first set to the top seed and bet365 is only offering evens on Stuart. Those guys must actually follow tennis. Most annoying

Looks like Dougaz was injured. He has retired at 3-3.

err or noticed that Dougaz had had a MTO.

Pity for him but onwards again for Stuart and hopefully he can put the disappointment of just missing out on PoM behind him.

He probably thought, 'here we go again, can't be bothered to sweat out three sets again, just to end up losing, might as well hit the clubhouse now and enjoy the rest of the day'

The tournie organisers in these events should really just put Stuart and Dougaz together each week and then pencil Stuart in for the next round, save a lot of effort

While Stuart got through a match in 42 minutes due to a retirement the Italian had a 3hour 18 mins 3 setter against Colin Sinclair. Hopefully this plays into Stuarts hands.
