Nice to see Aidan get a 'normal' sort of win, that reflects the rankings i.e. not some rather difficult three-setter over a guy ranked 1000 or so (or, indeed, a loss)

I agree.  smile  His next opponent could present more of a challenge, though:

QF:  (3) Aidan McHugh WR 568 vs (6) Oliver Crawford (USA) WR 604 (CH = 529 in July 2019)

Good stuff but maybe the Swede didn't play that close to his ranking. Hope Aidan can follow it up.

Oh, absolutely. It's hardly a game changer result. Always two sides. And, yes, the Swedish guy has a pretty lousy results sheet. So, given Aidan's form too, I'd say there's a very good chance you're right.

However, you'd still take it smile

Oliver Crawford, as SC says, is a wholly different challenge, simply because he's on a roll of good results. Made the SFs the last two weeks he played in Tunisia, including beating Stuart Parker. I would expect OC to be the bookies' favourite.

Not a nice draw.....

QF: Jonathan Binding & Henry Patten CR 2829 (807+2022) lost to Yuki Bhambri & Saketh Myneni (IND/IND) UNR (0 [but a CH of 138 in March 2014]+209) 4-6 3-6

Oliver was the clear bookies' favourite - but Aidan took him apart in two sets

QF: (3) Aidan McHugh WR 568 def. (6) Oliver Crawford (USA) WR 604 (CH 529 July 2019) 7-5 6-2

Well done, Aidan - very good result.

Feels like that is Aidans best win for a long while. Well done to him.

Well done Aidan, indeed. He had that epic 4 hour match last week in (was it Sharmh, my memory is rubbish) so it seemed the fight was there.

Be good to see him make the final here!

Also Aidan keeps his nose ahead in the battle for GB #15 as Stuart is hot on his heels and only 2 points adrift.

That's a cracking result from Aidan. Best for a long time.

Wasn't Oliver the lad that did something quite silly when he was young? I hope he recovers well from it.

Surprisingly, only adz1983 picked Stuart in the predictions competition, and then only as reserve.
But Stuart does only have half the points of Brydan who is currently #10

Next the big one:

SF:  (1) Saketh Myneni (IND) WR 461 (CH = 137 in September 2016) vs (3) Aidan McHugh WR 568
