Week 9 - ITF M15 - Lucknow, India (hard)

QR1:  (q2) Henry Patten WR 1176 (CH = 1157 last December) vs Osgar O'Hoisin (IRL) UNR (CH  = 1425 in March 2018)

QR1:  Jonathan Binding UNR (CH = 985 in August 2019) vs (q13) Gunjan Jadhav (IND) WR 1737 (CH = 1579 in January last year)

Good to see Jonny B back.  Aidan McHugh (seeded) & Alexis Canter (I presume - he was third on the list & the q1 was fifth) should be in the main draw.

Osgar was the guy who used to play doubles with our Dave O'Hara, wasn't he?

Alexis and partner lost their doubles to the top seeds, 2&1

Jonny B and Henry P should get a win though

Just seen this, disappointing for Henry. He did ok in some of the Brits only events last season, if I recall, but hasnt really done much on the international stage recently?

I don't think it was a surprising score, though. It was always going to be really close. They've got very similar profiles, Henry and Osgar.

I always think of Henry far more as a doubles player.

Also think he's only recently finished his MSc at Durham at the moment, (Finance, investment, something like that) although I might be a year out.

QF:  Jonathan Binding & Henry Patten CR 2829 (807+2022) vs Yuki Bhambri & Saketh Myneni (IND/IND) UNR (0 [but a CH of 138 in March 2014]+209)

Haven't seen Bhambri's name mentioned for a while, but he & Myneni despatched the second seeds, Castelnuovo & Vanshelboim, with ease (1 & 1).

Nice to see Aidan get a 'normal' sort of win, that reflects the rankings i.e. not some rather difficult three-setter over a guy ranked 1000 or so (or, indeed, a loss)
