In Dakar this week: 

Girls: 

In qualis, Gabia Paskauskas lost her FQR 9-11 in the MTB.

In the main draw, we have Sirena Waas (age 14) and Flora Johnson (age 13)  

Boys: 

Maceo Simpson came through qualis.

Tom Paskauskas lost.

In the main draw, there's Will Jansen (seeded 2), Freddie Ridout (4), and Tom Chapman has a wildcard

 

 

Vlada Kozak (age 14) is playing the J5 in Tartu, which I'll watch with interest (the results, that is). One of the LTA's top picks and a promising girl.

Yes will be interesting to see how Vlada gets on. I believe she now lives and trains in Croatia having left the LTA National pathway in 2019.

Thanks for that update, Tennisdad - I didn't know. 

Probably a very wise move hmm

I presume that is where the family are from? 

I would imagine she would stay playing for GB, from a purely economic point of view. But other factors  might come in....

Freddie R and Will Jansen both got wins in their R1.

Sirena lost hers.

R1: Vlada Kozak lost 7-5 2-6 1-6

(Is this where a little tinsy bit of the LTA go: yeah, well, you shouldn't have left.......)

Wins for Maceo Simpso (over the 5th seed, in a thrid-set TB) and Flora Johnson

Dakar, R2:

Freddie won in three sets, Will won more easily.

But Maceo Simpson lost, as did Flora.


Flora+ is into the doubles SF, though.

The results always come up late....

Dakar, J5:

QF:

Freddie Ridout won 7-5 in the third

But Will Jansen lost 4-6 in the the third.


Flora+ lost their doubles SF

Freddie Ridout managed to win his semifinal in Dakar and is into a Final tomorrow, where he plays a French unseeded player - good chance for him!
