Week 8 - ITF M15 - Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt (hard)

My theory for George has gone a bit pear-shaped as he lost the first set, 1-6

However, Paul won a really tight one 7-5

And Aidan, who was well in the lead, had been pegged back to 5-5 by the Italian junior

George lost heavily 1 and 2.

Aidan won that first set on a TB, well done

Paul nip and tuck in a tight match.

Be great to see Aidan and Paul pull these out.

PS I keep seeing Jakub Paul and get confused with Paul Jubb - they need to have a word

THat's one of my classics too ! There are several players whose names always jump out at me as someone different - and, yes, Jakub Paul and Paul Jubb are right up there at the top of the list!

Aidan has been playing over 3 1/2 hours so far, in a 3 set match. No idea what the record is for a 3 set match but this cant be far off that?

Aidan had 5 MPs in all, 2 at 6-5* 40-15* in the second set and 3 during the third set TB ( 1 on serve ). Cobolli converted on his 2nd MP.

QF:  (Q) Lukas Krainer (AUT) WR 1152 (CH = 1092) vs Paul Jubb WR 531

Let's hope Paul can capitalise on that stroke of fortune.    That said, Krainer beat the Japanese seventh seed, Shimabukuro (WR  474/CH 425), in three sets in his second round match...
