Paul is playing yet another 'irritatingly talented' Italian junior, nosmile, who's in the draw with a JR. 

Nardi is born 2003, and already ATP 798 (as above) and also JCH 17.

Not really surprised that he's the bookies' favourite over Paul.....will be interesting.....

Indeed, the Italian young guns are there in number as Flavio Cobolli is also in the draw, another 2003-er with direct entry under a JR, who's ATP 885 and JCH 8. (Both are behind Jack PJ in the JR entry list, based on junior ranking, but way ahead of him in adult ranking).

The only consolation is that Flavio plays the Italian 2002-born lad who's come through qualis. So that'll whittle down the Italian young hopes a touch....

Mind you, there are 7 Italians in the first round (and I thought our five was pretty amazing....)

 Interesting, isn't it.....

George didn't do the UK tour stuff last summer, and seemed to be based in France. 

And hasn't turned up at the Brit haunts until this week. 

Now, I'm sure he had support, or whatever, in France.

But - knowing Liam biggrin, and Jay too - as you say, they'll be at the court side in Sharm, making a LOT of noise (and good on 'em!) - and there will be a lot of banter and camaraderie.... I wouldn't be surprised if it really helps....

Yes R2 nay be more revealing though Cobolli, with a JCH 8, may be a fair bit underranked

Was really hoping to see Jack kick on this year but so far his results have not been encouraging cry

Does anyone know if the other Jack had MPs?

He won his first set by a whisker. And then lost the second 7-6(7)

So pretty likely.

And SO close.

Looks like he'll lose the third (always a hard ask for a youngster who's not physically as strong)

 Interesting challenge for Jubby next, dont know Imai at all, but looks like the sort of ranking Paul should be aiming to at least give a close battle to
