The doubles draw confirms Jack Draper's presence in Sharm, not to mention Jay Clarke's!

It might have felt daunting , but Jack and Simon Carr have taken the first set off the top seeds, 6-3

Im sure SC will post this very shortly, but Jack D is top seed and has drawn Aidan in round one.

Paul J, Jack PJ and George L also in the field

Edit - Ha, SC was much too quick and posted before my comments!

I don't think Jay ever intended to be in Sharm, as he was aiming for challengers, so he couldn't play singles unless they gave him a wild card. That would have been tough on the rest of the entry !

On-site sign-in for doubles though, so he was able to enter. And I guess Liam wants a week off, or he would be playing as well.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I think Jay/Liam are using Sharm as a training base before moving on to other challengers.  I am sure their motive is to avoid quarantine regulations in the UK.

George has put together four very convincing wins so far this week.

Will be interesting to see if he can continue.

I've no idea if I'm talking nonsense but I wonder if it's helping George to play well because he's suddenly got a lot of Brits around?

I did wonder whether having Liam and Jay around does actually help, or adds more pressure ? The former I'm sure biggrin
