Katie listed as Q2, were there late withdrawals?

Conny Perrin is the Q1 seed, and was two below Katie on the acceptance list. With one JE and no SE's there would have been three promoted into the main draw.

Wow. Amanda Anisimova has a WC for the main draw.

I remember Danielle Collins getting a WC for a W25 fairly recently, but not sure anyone as high as 31 has played in a W25 tournament for a long time.

Edit - just checked, and coincidentally, Collins was also 31 when she got a MDWC into Naples W25 in Nov 2019.

Looks like Anisimova hasn't played any matches since October. Bit surprised she's playing a W25 though, but not a lot of choice right now I suppose - until Doha perhaps ?

Suspect she'll stay over that side of the Atlantic. There's two events in Mexico before Miami that are an option.

Qualifying has now finished, so we could know who Katie S faces soon, although I did say that about Eden this morning and it was about 5 hours later when they did the Q placing. biggrin

Only 2 seeds managed to qualify, the 14th and 16th seeds, so a poor showing overall, although a few decent unseeded American youngsters have qualified, including Katrina Scott, which would be a US Open quals rematch from a couple of years ago if she and Katie faced off.

All doubles first round being played today. Karie and Ekatarine have just taken the first set 6-1, Tara to follow. Naiktha + are 3-3

It's Kayla Day for Katie, former top junior. They met in late 2019 with Katie winning seemingly comfortably, but Kayla has had a couple of decent wins here thus far.

Katie Swan and partner get a win in the doubles, which is nice to see
