Me too TA, last day off work, and was expecting to still be watching the AO by now.

It was a set that I didn't see the young'un losing until *4-3, but then Sofia kind of took over and Noma was definitely hanging on in the end, and Sofia very unlucky not to take the set - a couple of close calls on massive points. Noma's serve was actually looking pretty poor throughout, but crucially got it working just in time. Interesting second set coming up.

Sofia missed 0-40 at the start of the second and the youngster came through 7-6(2) 6-2. She's definitely a talent.

The girls are seeded third. Draw is much stronger this week, but Anna Popescu has slightly randomly popped up with Scholl.

I thought Sofia played very well in the first set and could have taken it. I missed most of the second set though.
I'll do the doubles draw this evening after work - wasn't expecting it to be out so early.

 Yes, she was 61st alternate on the last singles list ! Her name appears every so often, but not going to get into tournaments at this level.

Anna is 6th/last on Court 3 (the other court to Centre). The 5th match is NB 4pm UK, but the second match hasn't even started yet, so could be be a late one.

Emily has her doubles tomorrow.

It looks like Anna + have given a walkover, so no British interest (today).

That youngster Noma was very impressive today. Dismissed the player who won this event last year 1 and 3 in less than an hour.

The top seeds scraped through, saving 2 match points. Now Emily and Sofia really up against it.

Em and Sofia drop the first set 6-2. They are going to have to up their game quite a bit to find a way to beat this pair who look pretty solid all round.
