I think this may turn out to be a blessing. Frans circumstances are probably the reason she doesnt normally play doubles. Going forward I think she has serious ambition to climb the rankings and doubles would hinder this.

I would imagine the circumstances of being in Australia and a likely rest coming up meant she entered rather than any desire to be a doubles player. No pressure on her its almost like a training session playing doubles when you are a singles player, and a bit of court time and pocket money.
