Repeats then! Great to see Fran get another win over the wily Romanian; Katie has still had a good trip down under.

How many points for Fran for that win? Another great result.

I think it's12 (net 10). One qualifying round and a 64 main draw takes it off the normal points scale but that's what live rankings suggests with an updated live ranking 216 with 317 points ( although I see live-tennis is showing Fran into QR2 and there isn't a QR2 ).

I'm not sure but she is +49 for the week so I think 9 from this or somewhere around there.

Would have liked Katie to pick up a win over these two events but nevermind. Unfortunate to draw Kasatkina twice.

Well done Fran

Unfortunate rematch for Katie but hey, hopefully this time she will get the win.
Agree about Jo playing, maybe it wasn't that serious but it seems very short recovery from whatever it was to playing again

With luck Katie can play better with the pressure off.

Perhaps Jo panicked and could have played on after all.

Maybe but she couldn't carry on serving double faults or having continuous treatment. I thought if you pulled an ab. it would take a few weeks before someone could play again.

Was reading on the internet that abdominal pain in athletes can be mis-diagnosed as a pulled ab for a variety of reasons, such as a trapped or damaged nerve. Something Jo has suffered from before in her foot. If so, like Jo's foot, it can be managed.

Perhaps it was just a mis-diagnosed stomach upset? Juvan was throwing up all over the place in her R2 match!!!

Two steps forward, one step back for Katie in Australia.

Probably the worst of the draws Fran could have had !

R32: KONTA, Johanna (GBR) 3 15 (CH=4 2017) v SASNOVICH, Aliaksandra (BLR) 92 (CH=30 2018)

Jo has played Aliaksandra twice before, winning in three both times.

If it helps, the new TNNS Live APP which is getting better all the time has links to the usual draw sheets showing points and prize money for WTA, ATP and ATP Challenger events (main draw and qualies). Looks like ITF draws will follow in due course.

This confirms 12 points for Fran for qualifying which was a great job by her. She is definitely improving all the time which is great to see.

Definitely worth checking this out if you havent already and Btw there are links to highlights for some matches from the APP from this tournament.

Yes shame for Katie - unfortunately back to the slog of lower level ITFs for a while (if she can get in them of course!).

Fran is in doubles here with Podoroska, if she wins her opener shed play Nicelescu , again, in the last 16 (MN is 2nd seed in doubles).
