That is a quick rematch for Katie. Surprised Jo is entered as I thought she might be out of action for a while with the injury from the AO.Katie playing overnight.
Unfortunate rematch for Katie but hey, hopefully this time she will get the win.
Agree about Jo playing, maybe it wasn't that serious but it seems very short recovery from whatever it was to playing again
Nice idea this. I knew there were upcoming additional Aussie events, but I didn't realise it was this soon, and a very big field as well, with an extra round (for most) than a typical WTA 250 tournament. 16 points instead of 30 for a R1 win, Jo would get 30 if she won her first match.
Regarding watching, there could be a chance that Fran's Q match is streamed on the betting sites - there's a little TV symbol next to some of the qual matches, although I can't see one for Fran's. Unibet look like they are showing Hibi vs Marino, which is the Q match before Fran's, so it would seem strange to be streaming that one, but not the next Q match on the same court. Mind, I personally wouldn't be streaming a quals match on a betting site at circa 2am when there's Grand Slam tennis on at the same time, but it could be there if anyone wanted to.

With luck Katie can play better with the pressure off.
Perhaps Jo panicked and could have played on after all.

Maybe but she couldn't carry on serving double faults or having continuous treatment. I thought if you pulled an ab. it would take a few weeks before someone could play again.
