That is an impressive scoreline by Jodie IMO, despite the opponents low ranking. I only saw bits and bobs as was still concentrating on Melbourne, but did notice one very long (8 deuce) game which extended the match time a bit to 90 mins.
She's first on tomorrow, 8am UK, so I'll try and catch a bit more especially as the AO singles schedule is a bit more relaxed from now on. Interesting QF opponent (one of her doubles conqueror), she's now won 21 of her last 22 matches stretching back to late November, and appears to have translated her W15 (title winning) form into W25 events. She beat Haddad Maia in R1, and then that Gasonova who I mentioned the other day today.
Jodie often seems to a betting favourite in a lot of her matches, even against higher ranked opponents (must have a fairly strong UTR score), but this one is deemed pretty much 50/50, as both are odds on and shorter than evens / 2.00.
