Osaka well up 6-4 3-0 - an impressive and disciplined display - focused and concentrating throughout. Am I the only one watching this though?

Being honest had no idea where to watch it. I have bbc etc and Prime, Netflix but dont think it was on those and Im too much of a Yorkshire man to spend any more money on tv related stuff!

so followed the bbc text commentary - as I have for whole AO, not seen a shot live !

Osaka is just a good thing for tennis.
100% wins in Slam finals. Passes Kerber, Wade et al on 3 titles, and joins the likes of Arantxa, Clijsters & Mandlikova on 4 Slams.
What a player she already is, with an exciting style of tennis. Also, so impressive in the way she carries herself in everything she does on court - always respectful & gracious to her opponents - and off.
I hope to be watching her for at least the next decade, and hopefully more.

I don't normally spend on watching tennis, but I splashed out on the special offer of a month of Eurosport for 99p. I've definitely had my money's worth!!

Just need to remember to cancel it after the tournament!!

Naomi's such a star and takes her 4th Grand Slam title. A somewhat muted post final scenario due to Covid - Naomi's certainly had her share of these and it reminded me of the post US Open final v Serena in that respect.

Some news on a non British player  in Donna Vekic but one who  was once coached  by David Felgate . Reported that she has had surgery on her right knee She reached the last 16 of the AO  losing to Jennifer Brady. She seems to have been around for a long time and is now 24.I think she was resident in London for a while.
