Gordon hasnt won a slam singles since 2016 when he won Wimbledon and Australian. This would be a massive comeback for him. Gerard is a good player though, won the Aussie Open earlier this season.

Sadly Gordon lost but still a good week for him and the whole British team with 3 doubles titles and 4 out of the 9 title winning players being Brits.

Onwards to British Open and sunny Bolton !

Next big event is the British Open

It seems to be in Nottingham now, as opposed to traditional venue of Bolton, presumably due to Covid bubble requirements

Mens entry has all the top 10, womens is a bit thinner but still strong and quads has a decent entry as well

British Open is underway in Nottingham - there are mens, womens and quads singles and doubles, and junior events as well.

Looking to our usual top 5 of Alfie, Gordon, Jordanne, Lucy and Andy to produce some home soil results, some other unknown (to me) names also playing and will be interesting to see if anyone can break through this week

In singles play today, Alfie and Gordon both through to the last 8; in womens singles, Jordanne is through, but Lucy went out early; Corneila Oosthuizen beat fellow Brit Abbie Breakwell and is in the last 8.
In quads, Andy Lapthorne very disappointingly lost his opener as 2nd seed and we have no Brits left in that category.

Gordon did really well to upset the 3rd seed and now plays Alfie in the semis. Gordon reached the Wimbledon final of course, so this would be a fabulous double if he can upset alfie .
