Week 5 - ATP 250 - Murray River Open - Melbourne, Australia (Outdoor Hard)

Really happy for Dan for a first ATP title.

Would love to watch the match - but can't find a catch up option on Eurosport?

Brilliant from Dan. Very well done.

I missed the end as I recorded the match (I have Eurosport via my Sky subscription) and it very kindly cut out just before the finish! Schoolboy error in not taping the next programme as well which I would normally do.

From what I saw thought Dan played very well and completely bamboozled FAA (much as he did with Chardy yesterday) and I think he looks in great shape physically.

Obviously a difficult first match tomorrow but if he gets through that against Cam, lets hope he can have a decent run this week and I think he could certainly give a rusty Rafa a good match.

I think it's a friend of his who lives in Australia. Dan mentioned he would be there supporting him.

It's great win for Dan, finally winning his first ATP title!

Anyone able to tell me how we go about putting a bet on Dan for 4th round. We've looked but can see anything. (Sons account and he isn't keen on Dan so hasn't pushed himself) he says he can see other options for 4th round but not Dan

Well deserved by Dan proved the doubters wrong and a finger up to the stuffed shirts at the LTA etc. On this form he certainly has a chance against Nadal if they both make it.

I love Dan but in this case you can't blame the LTA, only Dan and I think he would agree.  I'm not sure in other countries he would've got much more support because there would've been a lot more prospects to choose from, fortunately for him and for those of us that like his style of play thats not the case in the UK.

Finally Dan fulfils his talent he has always been more than good enough. Loved watching his journey never boring usually positive.

Always had a soft spot for him as a fellow Villa fan. Like a few others on here watched him in 2015 at Wimbledon qualifying beat Mr Big Bang himself Bachinger and lose in the final round to Sugita primarily because hed run out of steam. Genuinely thought I would never see him in qualys again and gutted to see him back in worse shape after his ban playing Bachinger again and getting squarely beaten.

Nothing but admiration for the way he has rebuilt his career. Time to make as much hay as possible

Very pleased for him, always liked his guile. FAA, 7 finals 7 defeats but I guess not so bad given his age.

I really enjoy watching Dan , there are top 20 players I'd never bother to watch, but Dan is entertaining and shows a real variety of skills.
So happy that he's earned his chance to be at a Slam and, sorry Cam, but I hope to see him through the first round.
