Thanks for the reports, Tennis Saltire.

I've always thought Mannarino is a bit of a drama queen so I'm not surprised by your comments. Cam was the Bet365 favourite for the match too which was slightly weird but proved right.

But I like Frances and like his tennis, even though it's a little unorthodox

There are quite a few French players (both men's and women's) who like a bit of dramatic flair shall we say...

Oh yes, they learn it young biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

 M. Leconte was the doyenne of course, M. Noah had his moments as well - M. Forget at the time was surprisingly straight laced!

I recall similar eccentricity from M. Mannarino in a defeat to James Ward at Queen's some years ago. At times bothered, at times seemingly not.

This was another up and down match from Cam.

First set, he played very well and deserved to win it to 0, but tbh I think Tiafoe threw the set at about 3-0.

2nd set Tiafoe was a completely different player (hence why i said he chucked the first set), he started to serve better and get after Cam's serve, 2 breaks to 1 were enough for the set (6-3), I didn't think Cam did much wrong though, FT understandably raised his level.

Third set, once it got going (10minutes between last point and first point of third set due to Tiafoe needing to "change attire" or have "a bathroom break") was the best in terms of intrigue in all but 1 service game Cam had to save numerous break points but saved them all by just "digging in" and valiantly defending. At 5-4, I was beginning to think a breaker may ve needed to decide the match, but Cam had other ideas, breaking Tiafoe, finally taking it on his 4th match point.

I'd say this is a big win for Cam and it leads me to believing that it could be the springboard to a successful 2021

Next up is Seb Korda who took out John Isner so what a chance to reach the final, no disrespect to Korda. Recovery will be key because he had a long gruelling 2hr 15 maych which finished just after 2215 Delray Beach time, he does play again at 1am GMT so he has about 24hrs to recover.

Hope my summaries are a hit with you guys

Cam has a 2-1 h2h over Mannarino, played twice in Mexico. Mannarino won last time, in early 2020. Matches havent typically been tight, though.

Could go either way, suspect Cam needs the first set.

Well cam got that first set 6-0 and got another good win for him, into the semis. Excellent win.

Thanks for the write ups, good details and appreciated! I used to be a fan of Petr Korda , his Dad, what a family of sports players they are with his golfing daughters , but do hope cam beats Seb.

In the other semi, hurkacz takes on anti masker Christian Harrison. Why are so many of the American players jerks? Another one in the Isner, Querrey camp and Reilly Opelka also came out supporting Harrison for refusing to wear a mask for his interview. I also hear Ryan Harrison is a similar type!
Add in Tenys Sandgren as well. They should offer Trump a coaching role.

Ditto !

Both for Cam and the match reports smile

And also re the US Players being the official tennis Trump fanclub (although it does seem to be largely the blokes - and, indeed, just the very tall blokes confuseconfuseconfuse)

I think it's oxygen deficiency.

Altitude problems and all that.....

Had 10p on Korda (mainly out of dislike for Isner so very pleased about that)

But now it's Cam's time smile

CD - you'll be pleased to know that Isner has pulled out of the Australian swing.
