Watched that on Bet365 - it was very close but you always thought that Heather would be just a little stronger in her head than Jodie at the end

Jodie had some real chances at 5-5* to break Heather. Not a great quality match, to be expected I think, and courts are very quick. But good for Heather to get over the line in the end.

A shame Jodie couldn't quite do it, the ranking points would have been more useful to her than they will be for Heather.

Not a lot between them.
Heather is very much a confidence player and tends to struggle in her first round matches.

Wasn't expecting this to go the distance.
Alexandrova's serve is pretty good - when she finds the court, but from the stats, Heather is matching her in most areas.

Just the one break in the final set, and crucial at *4-5.
Final score was 5-7 7-6(7) 3-6

Pretty close against the WR33, and there's room for improvement, so we'll see how the next few weeks play out.

Very little in that one. Much better than her first match, hopefully she can keep improving once they all get to Australia.
