With Aus Open qualies taking place in Dubai from Jan 10th, players in the 100 to 230ish ranking bracket cannot enter Abu Dhabi qualies, which provides a golden opportunity for players ranked even lower to try & make it into a WTA main draw.

Kichenok is primarily a doubles player but was in Top 100 in 2014

 Apparently not, I'm a bit confused as to why a player can't play Abu Dhabi qualies and AO qualies but can play main draw and AO qualies, surely the same problem applies.

Delray singles draw out and Cam draws JC Aragone followed by Adrian Mannarino in round 2, Mannarino is 3rd seeded.
