Battle of the Brits Premier League of Tennis at National Tennis Centre

Really long match between Fran and Jodie here to open the main court. The first set alone lasted 1 hr 20 mins, and it's currently 7-5 *5-6 Fran. The way it's going, Emma vs Heather (4th on) is going to clash directly with Brucie's boys big day out at 5.30. I know which one I will enjoy more...

Fran won that one 7-5 7-6(6), she won the final 5 points of the tie break.

Have to say, on today's showing, Fran looks more well-rounded than Jodie. She has great switching from defence to attack, while Jodie lacks the pace around the court Fran has. On the other hand, Jodie's serve seems stronger.

Eden beat Katy in 3 sets and it takes her to 6 points, I believe. Heather is on 6 points and I think is the only player that can top 6 now, with a set off Fran. So heather should win this event , with Eden most likely coming 2nd

I'm not fully up to speed with the points system and what not, but I think Emma will be on 5 points with her 2 wins and MTB defeat against Heather, so could probably pass Heather if she beat Jodie later, and Fran beat Heather in straights, but Heather clearly in the driving seat as far as the 'competition' goes. Heather would presumably take if it she lost to Fran via a MTB (and Emma won) due to the outcome of their match yesterday.

Na, it was originally Emma vs Jodie, and I didn't actually realise that Naomi had stepped in, so yeah, back to what you said originally.

Emma was looking like she was feeling it towards the end of her match with Heather yesterday, kind of as if she was nursing a niggle or something, and has played 5 matches in 5 days, so I'm not too surprised she is no longer playing today.

It was looking like those two final women's matches would directly clash, and I wasn't sure which one to watch, but will watch Heather vs Fran now, especially as it is on the main court.

Is Alex Ward a recent appointment as Heather's coach or a temporary arrangement?

Her serve action looks a little different but sadly her forehand is just the same.
