First set to Joe and Rajeev 7-5 thanks to an inspirational return from Rajeev at 6-5 40-40
Second set was a struggle on serve - broken three times to lose it 6-3
Match tiebreak to come

More than half the tiebreak points went against serve but thankfully Joe and Rajeev prevailed 10-5

Joe goes up to 6th in live rankings with that win, jumping over kubot and melo. Its v close in rankings so no doubt lots of ups and downs over the week.

Joe and Rajeev also top pair for now, again, at least until tomorrow.

Joe and rajeev are on tomorrow evening, a win likely to see them in semis, although not guaranteed. Going to be a tight event this doubles, more than the singles it feels.

They will though be guaranteed to be through with a win on Tuesday if earlier on Kubot & Melo beat Krawietz & Mies.

However, Krawietz & Mies won so just a question of trying to strengthen their position tonight for Joe & Rajeev.

trying to do the maths quickly, I think a straight sets win would see them guaranteed a spot on countback...I think?

Ha, I think you are correct

I had just got as far as seeing a potential 3 pairs on 2 wins situation. But yes, a straight sets win and they will be through given Koolhof & Mektic dropped a set in their win over Krawietz & Mies.
