Emma would make Dubai qualifying if she intends to play. Currently showing as 3rd alt, but the Q list is only updated to 25, not 27, so she's officially 1st alt, and someone on TF is saying that Giorgi withdrew today (but not updated on the ITF site), there'd also likely be a MDWC for someone already in qualifying, so she'd probably end up comfortably in, and hopefully she's on her way, but can't see any social media clues.
I haven't seen any clues either. So far it looks like just Heather and Jodie playing, plus Em should make it into doubles (possibly partnering Sofia again). Qualifying sign-in has now passed, so the draw should be out soon.
It is, but without wanting to sound harsh - ranked 500 odd, lost every match she has played this year, could only face a seed between 125 and 216, I think literally every potential draw would have been considered tough.

Yes, free shot I guess, her main aim is presumably doubles ?
Bit early for the men's draws - remember Dubai is four hours ahead.
Pleased for EWS, although she was waydown the acceptance list and probably only expecting to play doubles. It looks like no-one from the original qualifying list was moved into the main draw, as Gasparyan is Q1 and Gorgodze is up just one place at Q16. So we must presume that Jodie has a main draw wild card

Looking at the entry list I would think that Em is safely in the doubles. A lot of the players there don't really play doubles, and going through the singles/doubles rankings, I would put Em at around 30 on the entry list as an individual at worst. Obviously there are some top doubles players there, with Mladenovic/Babos and Siniakova/Krejcikova likely to be fighting it out for the title.

Yeah, I noticed that too, so that earlier Giorgi info must have been wrong, unless she just forgot to withdraw officially, and a LL spot opens up. There's obviously very few local players for them to choose from, or even those from surrounding areas, so I did initially think Jodie would have been a potential likely MDWC candidate. There could be less publicly known agency links, but just generally looking at previous MDWCs like Ruse last year, and the age, style, current ranking etc., I did think she kind of stereotypically fitted in.
