Fran has withdrawn from Dubai. She would have been 3rd Q alt, and with the amount of withdrawals over the past 3 or 4 days, she would have very likely got in. Jodie is currently 11th Q alt, so less likely she'll get in, but you never know. EWS got a QWC last year, not sure whether that was just because she was there with the doubles, but maybe half a chance of an odd random WC of some sort for one of our players - there's obviously not many local players to hand them to, and last year there did seem to be a few unexpected MDWCs (Ruse, Galfi), unless they have clear links with the country / venue etc.

Em is actually in Dubai, so keep an eye on the draws, you never know !

It's quite possible that both will play doubles. However, Heather would have to make the final to catch Naomi, and Em would have to win the title !

But Heather could take over the #2 spot with a first round win, unless Em wins a round more than her. (Em's 11th counter is 28 points from Dubai last year, Heather has a one-pointer to replace)

A number of withdrawals yesterday, only two Brits being Mandy and Emily Ar, leaving Emilie Lindh as Q2.
Sally Pethbridge ha made it into qualifying in Cairo at Q41
Jodie is up 4 places at Q22 in Dubai, and Emma Raducanu is up to fourth alternate. At least 20 withdrawals mean that those lower down the list move up accordingly.
