Yes, Fran will move to GB #5 on Monday week, now on at least 268 points compared to Naiktha's 267. So a further jump forward in her CH.

In these covid times with the postponement of points reductions, no-one has points to come off until at least March.

Lost 2-6 1-6, kind of in line with Zvonareva's other scores this week. Shame it wasn't a little closer; but still another very good week for her, with a string of higher ranked wins.

 Despite not winning today Maia and Melis's run to the final has been nothing short of incredible. They were presumably a scratch partnership and Maia has no reputation as a doubles player. Hope they're able to play together again.

Must have been lovely for Maia, too, playing with a Turkish player, with all the home support (not sure how much there is in terms of actual crowd at the moment, but there must be a bit of buzz, and you feel the support even from the officials etc before the match, at the prize-giving etc etc)

Maia did pretty well at the University Games in 2017and 2018, winning gold and silver medals, playing singles and doubles - so she's obviously far better than her ITF record suggests
