I didn't include Naiktha because of those UTR matches. Katie S has a post on her Insta doing a challenge on the beach a couple of weeks ago - and is looking pretty fit, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I guess one out of three MTBs is not so bad but, can't help it, was expecting more....... :(

I think I'd have been more happier with 1/3 if it was Marni with the W. Don't get me wrong, it's very exciting when a 15 year old gets a few pro wins, but realistically, it's more about getting more familiar with these type of events for Jasmine, so a Q win here and there is fine for her, and she doesn't need to be thinking about bombing up the rankings at her age.

Emily probably needed the wins and points most out of the 3 of them, but having read her intereviews over the UK Pro Series, I am kind of expecting her to have a career in London in 2 or 3 years, so I'm not quite as fussed about her results if you know what I mean. I'd obviously still like to see her win though.

I know nothing about her conqueror Djakovic, but with her convincing wins over Eden and Sam over the summer, beating Maleckova (who is now ranked 301) at Sunderland R1, and twice pushing Emma Rad reasonably close, I thought Marni might have had the best chance of the 3 to qualify and maybe do a bit of damager in the main draw, but not to be.

Good luck to Jasmine tomorrow though!

Sorry its been a long day at work with plenty of travelling today. I wasnt going to mention the name but yes most of you guessed it was Gabi .apparently she has not been enjoying the sport for a while. It might be a rumour although apparently it has come from a close source. Hopefully absence may make the heart grow fonder but if not as long as she is happy.

Well done Jasmine and good luck tomorrow
Im with you on that one ace I really did think Marni would breeze into main draw.
Hopefully she will be competing next week.

Draws are out. Katie and Freya both face qualifiers (yet to be drawn), but unfortunately they are in the same quarter.

Doubles
L16:- Emily Arbuthnott (GBR)/ Freya Christie (GBR) CR828 (503+325) [2] v Viktoryia Kanapatskaya (BLR) / Adrienn Nagy (HUN) CR1256 (727+529)

Quite interested to note that should Emily and Freya win their R1 match then they could meet Leylah Fernandez (and her younger sister Bianca) in R2. They have been drawn against a pair of Indian WCs in R1.

That's 2 doubles observations I hsve made recently, I'm not sure what's gotten into me wink

Hadn't looked that far ahead ! At least Leylah isn't playing singles, although Bianca has reached FQR.

Jasmine is match 2 on court 4
Freya and Emily are match 4 on court 3

Not that it helps a lot, since Sharm are pretty poor updating the scores !

It will be the Fernandez sisters for the winners, but Freya/Emily have just dropped the first set 3-6.

Martyna Kubka in R1 for Katie. 19 y/o, currently ranked 772. She did reach a Portugal W15 final recently (from qualifying) but lost 0-6 0-6 to Haddad Maia.

Another 19 year old for Freya, Tikhonova, who was the Q1 in qualifying. She's currently ranked 709.
